League of Legends Patch 12.1 | Season 12's Newest Skins

Well, the newest patch 12.1 and the new season for League of Legends is oficially upon us, which will be the first patch with many changes

It is still hard to believe how far this game has come that we are witnessing the 12th season of League of Legends. This new patch will bring many new stuff, adjustments, buff and as well as nerfs that have not been finalized yet but we here at updown.ninja have prepared a list of skins, that have made an appearence and have been officially announced by Riot in PBE so far.

League of Legends Patch 12.1 | Skins

Let's get started with the skins, which is really a grey zone that many people are all over, most people that are actually plan on buying new released skins an on the other side some players that do not even care about the newly released skins or changes like VGU or VFX updates. In our opinion the skins that will greet us with the new season are not that interesting to get excited about, especially because of the cancelled Firelight skin for Ekko, which was supposed to be an Arcane skin. Still, here they are:

Firelight Ekko |1350 RP *Canceled*

Firelight Ekko was definitely an addition that League of Legends Players, especially Ekko mains were looking forward to see in the Summoner's Rift because of how Ekko appeared in the Riot's hit Netflix series 'Arcane'. Once it had made an appearence in the Public Beta Testing platform of League of Legends (PBE), players noticed and reported that the new animations and effects for the skin were missing despite the price and the rarity level that it was supposed to have. Therefore Riot has announced that they would be cancelling the skin for the Patch 12.1 and that the mistake was caused because of a misscommunication between the visual artists in their team. But keep in mind that there is a big chance that we will see this skin in one of the future patches, possibly in 12.2.

Elderwood Gnar | 1350 RP

Gnar is definitely on the list of champions that Riot does not show enough love for. With only 6 available skins (excluding the lagacy skins) Gnar is certainly a champion that deserves more skins. And we think that it is a great move from Riot to give Gnar such a cute and fitting skin for his character as well as looks.

Elderwood Rek'Sai| 1350 RP

Next up we have another Elderwood skin for one of the most magestic creatures and the single mother of League of Legends, Rek'Sai! Similar to Gnar, Rek'Sai is a champion that is left out of the meta and unattended by Riot. So, it really makes us happy to see that she is recieving what she deserves.

Goth Annie| Splash Art Update

Unfortunately not a new skin, but it is nice to see old splash arts getting updated

Conclusion

As stated above, we do not think that 12.1 is an exciting patch skin-wise with the Firelight Ekko being cancelled and being left with only 2 skins which are only elderwood ones, we think that it is justified to say that 12.1 is not a patch that will be remembered for its skins. But it's also important to note that 12.1 is the first patch of Season 12 which is probably a patch where Riot concentrated more on League of Legends gameplay and champion adjustments rather than game's visual aspect.
